Poem Post 3: Never Was

Dedicated to how people treat me - like nothing.

You thought that I was the I that you thought

But you thought wrong.

You thought I was always at your side

Not for long.

I never began ~ so I cannot end

I never was there ~ less so as a friend

I never saw the light ~ because I was never seen

I never understood ~ what anything did mean

You thought I was there for you

No.

I couldn't, can't, will never see

I couldn't, can't, will never be

For how can one be

Part of "us"

If one was never
